FAQ

Once you arrive at The Vicarage we will give you a full tour of the spaces for you to enjoy and get comfortable in. We like to make sure you have everything you need for a relaxing stay.

If you have any thoughts or questions prior to check in we welcome you to make contact at any time.

What time is check in and check out?

Check in from 3pm and check out is at 10am, if possible we are happy to accommodate early check in and late check out if arrange prior to the stay.

Is free parking available?

There are three free car parks in the driveway, in front of the property.

There is also plenty of free street parking on Reed Street.

What does the bed and breakfast package include?

Included in your stay is filtered drinking water for your room and free wifi. Full use of the ground floor guest parlour, where you will find complimentary coffee, tea and treats, and a locally sourced continental breakfast.

How do I stay connected?

We do not provide TVs in any guest rooms or the parlour, however complementary wifi is available in all areas. Kindly note, if you are staying in one of our first floor rooms (The Maple or Magnolia Rooms) the wifi signal can be weaker due to the nature of the older home. We encourage you to make use of the ground floor parlour or make reservations to stay in our Elm Room.

Will I have a restful night's sleep?

We have taken great care in creating a relaxing atmosphere in all of our three guest rooms. All beds are dressed with electric blankets, mattress toppers and crisp cotton linen. You will have a selection of pillows and blankets on your bed and if there is anything extra you need or you have a feather sensitivity just let us know. All rooms are fitted with thermal, black out full length curtains so you will have a dark room. However The Vicarage is a grand old lady with a lot of history and naturally creaky floors and doors. You can expect to hear water running through the pipes and the odd voice carrying through the walls. Although we are very centrally located, Reed Street is quiet at night and you should not be disturbed by road noise.

Where in Oamaru do we find you?

The Vicarage is very easy to find, both coming from north and south. We are one block over from Themes Road, the main street running through Oamaru. You can easily leave your car here and walk into town and the Victorian Precinct. It will take you 15 minutes leisurely stroll, the beautiful public gardens are just around the corner and so is the famous Janet Frame house.
