Meet your host

Originally from the south of Sweden and after spending a few years travelling the world, Nora Ngau Chun settled in New Zealand in her early twenties. After a career in interior styling and sales, based in Auckland, the thought of embracing a slower pace of life and less time in traffic felt like the right move.

Nora and her partner didn't think twice when the opportunity to move to Oamaru presented itself. With a keen eye for detail and with previous experience in hospitality, opening The Vicarage Boutique bed and breakfast has been the perfect fit.

Nora's favorite part about owning a bed and breakfast is seeing how people from all walks of life connect with each other over an afternoon glass of wine in the parlour or at the breakfast table over coffee and croissants.

“Working with all the amazing makers and producers in Oamaru has been such a treat and we are proud to only be serving produce from the region, so the gustes get a true sample of what Oamru have to offer.”

When not busy welcoming guests at The Vicarage, Nora is also the owner and designer of banglebaby. - a range of bespoke wood and resin bangles handmade in Indonesia.

“ I believe in celebrating life's little luxuries and creating a truly memorable experience for each guest”
